Who can volunteer?
- Anyone who’s excited to help and willing to pitch in
- Students, professionals, families, retirees—there’s room for all talents and interests
- No long-term commitment required unless you want one
What volunteers do
- Planning support: brainstorming ideas, setup, and coordination
- On-site assistance: greeting attendees, guiding guests, and answering questions
- Setup and teardown: helping with banners, booths, signage, and cleanup
- Vendor and sponsor support: liaising with vendors, sponsors, and partners
- Promotion: sharing event details on social media and in the community
- Special roles: photographer, escort for VIPs, welcome desk, registration help, kids’ activity helpers, and more
How to get involved
- Tell us which events you’re excited about (Icy Bazaar, Fourth of July celebrations, Halloween Nights, Offshore Boat Races, parades, markets, etc.)
- Share your availability and any special skills or equipment you can bring

Answers to questions about volunteering
— Do I need prior event experience?
- Not at all. We’ll train you and pair you with a buddy.
— Can I volunteer for just one event?
- Yes—you can volunteer for one event or as many as you’d like.
— Are there age requirements?
- Typically 16+; if younger volunteers are welcome at certain activities, we’ll specify.
— Do I need prior volunteer or event experience?
- No prior experience is required. We’ll pair you with a buddy or volunteer lead and provide a quick orientation to get you comfortable with your role.
— What kinds of volunteer roles are available?
- Roles vary by event but commonly include greeter/wayfinding, registration desk, setup and teardown, vendor support, sponsor liaison, and activity helpers for kids’ zones. We also sometimes need photographers, social media helpers, and backstage crew.
— What if I can't make a shift I signed up for?
- If you can’t make it, please contact the volunteer coordinator as soon as possible. We’ll try to re-slot your duties or adjust the schedule.
— Can I volunteer with a friend or family member?
- Yes! We can assign you to the same shift or event when possible. Just let us know when you sign up.
