Science + Stewardship = Stroll

July 14, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Science + Stewardship Stroll
Restoring and managing wildlife habitats and green infrastructure projects involves more than growing flowers, pulling weeds and picking up trash. Learn how the River Walk runs as we stroll the shoreline, wetlands and Blue Water River Walk County Park. Admire the water, the flora and fauna, and all the hard work that’s been happening along the way. We’ll discuss how we incorporate citizen science and scientific principles, develop and share best management practices, and how our staff, volunteers, community members and visionary landowners shape and protect the ecosystems and natural and cultural resources of this and other Thumb Coast places and programs.
Meet at the pavilion at the south end of the Blue Water River Walk at 6:00 p.m. Parking is available just down the hill from Seaway Terminal, 2336 Military Street. The public is welcome. Come meet our staff and volunteer Stewards!
Our Science + Stewardship = Stroll will include:
Plant identification
Wildlife observations
Chat with other nature lovers
Share your knowledge
Enjoy the views and public art
