Close Encounters with the Great Lakes Gentle Giant!
Our 8th annual event provides a a live Sturgeon Encounter with a hands-on sturgeon touch tank, dozens of Great Lakes exhibits and vendors, hands-on activities, kids area, workshops, food and live music, and meet-and-greet with sturgeon fishery biologists.
Sturgeon Festival, is an immersive hands-on event focused on education and stewardship of the Blue Water Area’s natural resources. The Sturgeon Festival provides an exciting setting for visitors to learn the fascinating story of this ancient fish – a mascot for the Great Lakes and their recovery. For 13 years Friends of the St. Clair River has been protecting the health and future of the St. Clair River, its watersheds and people, plants and animals.
